Well, it's been a while since I've had an entry.  My life's pretty much been uneventful.  I've been working every single day, but yesterday I finally had the day off.  I went to the parade for a little while, didn't stay there too long.  After all, each year we see the same thing--vendors, wannabe wangstas, etc.  Our little "independent" island must be jynxed (geez I hope I spelled that right), because the weather's been nasty and cold the other two yrs I've attended.

The other night, I was checking out my syllabus for the class I'm taking this summer.  I didn't think Intro to Music History would be so demanding.  I need to go to two recitals and report on them, but in actuality, I'm looking forward to that.  I don't have any background in music, nor am I musically inclined; therefore, I think it's a great opportunity for me to learn something new.  I've been checking shows and schedules in places like Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.  Well, if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to write me a commentary.

I apologize for this dry entry.  Like a said earlier, nothing exciting's going on.  I will however say hello to DANNY!  He broke the monotony of a typical Saturday at my job, came in and visited me.  So, I'm sending out a big hug and kiss to Danny who's probably dying from his paintball fiasco yesterday.  LOL!  And of course a HELLO to everyone else.  Hope your summer's kicking...yeah...cuz mine's not.

OH MY GOD!  It's my father's birthday!

Ok, who's going to the parade this Sunday?!  Someone please call me or get in contact with me.  I don't want to go alone!  Thanks.

I'm dedicating this entry to a very special person in my life who I thought fell off the face of the earth, but he's here with me once again:  Danny!!!  Danny and I go way back--OLQM, awkward puberty yrs, yup that was our time.  May I add that Danny turned out to be quite a handsome gentleman.  I saw him recently at a friend's house...didn't quite catch up on each other's lives right then and there.  However, good 'ol Melo gave me his sn and he's been making me laugh on AIM ever since.  Well, Danny...when and if you get to read this...just want you to know that I luv ya like a fat kid luv cake.    C U @ Six Flags!

This was such an interestingly annoying day!  Okay, I need someone's advice, comment, whatever applies pretty much.  But what parent, in their right mind would have a 9 o'clock curfew for their almost-20-yr-old daughter?  My mom was so furious when I stepped in that door at 9:45.  For heaven's sake, I wasn't drinking, smoking up, fucking (excuse my language).  I was coming home from Marymount, picking something up at my friend's dorm.  And yes, I stayed and chilled with my friends for a while.  What the f*ck is there harm in that, turning into a lesbian?!  (Marymount's an all women's college.)  Give me a break!  Anyway, she was ready to bite my head off.  Meanwhile, my father's chilling in the kitchen eating his Cup O' Noodles.  Reeeaaalllyyy..I guess.  I've tried talking to both of them about this overprotective bs, and I tried explaining to them that this isn't the old country, women actually have rights; we are, and should no longer be, subordinates to men...All this double standard crap can suck it because I know if this were to happen to my brother, his coming home "late" would not be an issue.  And I'm not that rebellious stereotype of a teenager.  I'm the biggest nerd alive.  I whine over A minuses, cry over B's.  I try to be a perfectionist in all that I do including my loser -esque jobs ( I consider them loser -esque because they have no type of mental, spiritual fulfillment.)  You see!  Look at what I just wrote.. You have to admit that's real freakin dorky.

Whatever, there are far too many problems in the world that are more serious than mine.  No matter what, I guess I should shut up and consider myself lucky.

I finally saw Troy today with a friend, John (from SJU).  It was alright, I guess.  I'd give it a mediocre review.  It was definitely a meat fest.  Who did the casting?!  I mean come on, there was not one ugly looking guy (with the exception of the old folks...just because they're not young anymore.  Who knows, they were probably hot stuff back in their day).  Anyway, whoa!  Brad, Orlando...need I say more.  I saw Brad's ass three times.  I didn't mind, don't get me wrong, but was it necessary?  Orlando, on the other hand, didn't have to say his lines at all.  Come to think of it, he really didn't have much to say.   His "pretty boy" stature and "hopelessly romantic" aura said it all.  When it came down to it, his character was the one that needed to grow balls.  Overall, I give it a three out of five stars.  It was one of those movies that could've waited to be rented.

Speaking of movie rentals, I saw the first Shrek the other night.  Cute.  The movie was funny, I'll give it that much.  I'd actually give it 3 3/4 stars out of five (geez, I know, what's up with the three quarters?!  I don't know, it didn't quite tickle my fancy.  Maybe I was just too exhausted from the day or my fever was distorting my judgment.  Anyway, whatever.)  I just saw it to prep myself up for the sequel.  I hate going in to watch sequels, not knowing any background info.  So, I basically took it upon myself to learn more about the green ogre.  Well, I can't wait 'til I see Shrek 2.

This week (althought it's Wednesday) has been exhausting.  I've been giving my tita a tour of the Rockland/Jersey/Westchester area.  We visited mall after mall after mall and Marymount.  She liked the malls.  I'm sure she loved Marymount; I mean come on she was speechless!  I love her so much!  She's been living with us for about a month; she's just here to visit from the Philippines actually.  She's so cute and funny!  She's one of those people that make you choke on your water because she'll say something hilarious out of the blue.  Well, she's definitely a second mother.  As I was leaving to go to work today, she asked me where I was going and what time I'd be home.  I called my house from my job and was talking to my mother.  She, too, asked me where I was and what time I was coming home.  Give me a break, people!  Let's have a little trust here!  I'll be twenty on June 22 (note that friends and colleagues ) and I'm still treated like a child.  I guess I can't complain too much.  I know their intentions are good.  Well, Ma, Tita, all I can say is I love you back.

My poor Daisy's been sick.  Daisy is my Toyota Corolla; a couple of weeks ago I decided to name my car just for the heck of it.  Well yesterday, I got a flat tire.  I was parked at a handicap spot by CVS when a fellow filipino came up to me and told me to look at my rear tire.  Sure enough (behind his thick accent) I saw my tire, flat!  Thank God for Carlos and his father.  They came to my rescue.  Carlos was with me through the whole scenario.  At first he told me to go home.  I told him he was crazy.  Then he took a look at it again and said, "Mah bad, C, yo check it do you have something something?"  That "something something" was that thingy that lifts the car up and the thingy to take of the wheel off (Good thing I knew what a spare was).  Listen, I'm sorry I don't know what these car accessories are.  After this ordeal, I'll memorize the names of these car things...trust me.

That was basically all the excitement for the past coupe of days!  Thank you ladies and gentlemen.
